Celebrating Three Years of Adaptogen Bars with the Power of These Superfoods
18th Sep 2025
Anniversaries are a time of celebration, so this month lets raise a bar (literally) to our Adaptogen Seedars! These snacks aren’t just delicious, but they are rooted in ancient tradition that goes back centuries. Today we’ve wrapped this wisdom into a new kind of treat that you can enjoy anywhere. Cheers to another excellent year!
Why Adaptations
Adaptogens are plants and mushrooms that have been traditionally used across cultures all over the world to help the body. While research is still growing, many studies suggest they help support focus, energy, resilience, and overall health.
There are 3 characteristics that can make a plant or herb an adaptogen.
1. They must be nontoxic in normal doses
2. They must support the immune system to cope with stress
3. They must help the body return to a stable state
Adaptogens are a call back to nature and looking to our environments for our health.
Origins and traditions
Adaptogens aren’t new at all! They have been used for centuries.
- In China and Japan, mushrooms like Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Chaga, and Cordyceps have been used in traditional medicine to support vitality, immunity, and clarity.
- In India, Ashwagandha has been a pillar in Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years and is valued for its calming and balancing benefits.
- In Russia and Siberia, Chaga was brewed into teas and used as a strengthener to help its people endure the harsh winters.
We have the privilege of bringing these time-tested ingredients into your homes in a modern and accessible way.
Meet the Adaptogens in Our Bars
Lion’s Main - Nicknamed the “brain mushroom,” is traditionally used to support clarity and focus. Early research and studies show its promotion of memory, focus, and creativity.
Ashwagandha - An ancient Ayurvedic herb used to help manage stress in the body and restore internal balance.
Chaga - An extremely nutrient dense mushroom, found on the bark of birch, trees packed full of antioxidants. It is often brewed not as tea for vitality and known to strengthen the immune system as well as fight inflammation.
Reishi or Lingzhi – Known as “mushroom of immortality,” with its history and use for immunity support, relaxation, and overall wellness. Several studies point to improvement in mental health when consumed.
Cordyceps - Traditionally used in Chinese medicine to enhance endurance, modern research has found that it may also help improve oxygen utilization.
